Kids Say...

These are from October 2014 to April 2015

I gave Ashley a shower in the basement bathroom shower and as she was getting in she saw something on the shower floor and said "Ahhh it's a wild animal!"  It was actually just a piece of string from carpeting.

In late September Bennett got a case of Hand Foot Mouth Disease.  I kept him home from school the first day but then since it was a pretty mild case and he was over the contagious parts already he went for the rest of the days that week.  This morning (Oct. 13th) he was coughing alittle bit on the way to school and Ashley said something to him to tell his friends about his coughing.  He said "No! When I had the bumps on my hands I told them and then they all wanted to pray for me at prayer time and it was embarrassing!"  It's so funny to me that he is already at an age that he gets embarrassed about things already.  We've seen his face turn bright red one time when we were talking about girls too.

Ashley:  Moooommmm, Bennett won't share the toilet!

Jon asked Ashley what she wanted for Christmas and she said "Alittle bit of everything"

While watching Home Alone..."I made my family disappear"...I asked Bennett if he'd want his family to disappear.  He said "No, cause I don't know how to run the over.  And then I'd have to eat junk food and candy.  And I wouldn't have to ask you to eat candy I could eat however much I'd want!" And then he started giggling...I think he was reconsidering his immediate No answer.

Ashley singing 'Angels We Have Heard On High' - "Glorrrrria Chealsea's Table, Glorrrrria Chealsea's Table"

On Christmas Eve we got home from church and the kids ran in the house to make sure Santa came.  Bennett looked at the tree and got all excited when he saw the presents.  Then he ran around the corner and looked at our little fake tree that I had in the basement and said "Heyyy, there are no presents at the tree in the basement!"  He was very disappointed about this.

Bennett got a USA puzzle for Christmas.  A few days after Christmas Ashley was telling me she wanted to do the Hanaka puzzle.  Huh?  I was confused until i realized she meant America puzzle...Hanaka, America

Not a good one but it was in a way funny that Mike and I privately laughed...after doing alittle scolding first...Think Home Alone...Merry Christmas you filthy animal...  Ashley was mad at me and said "Merry Christmas you stupid Mommy".  Like I said, not good but in a small way kinda humorous how she put those words together.

After supper, Bennett was sitting by me and he heard his stomach settle and he said "That was my tummy growling and saying thank you."

While driving home from my moms house, Ashley excitedly said "Mom I just saw some pandas!"  I think they were black birds instead.

Ashley said to me "Shirley has fish.  I like the big one.  The fish have a house and a church...to learn about God.  Not a real church, just a fish church."  (it's actually a castle)

Ashley came in the bedroom while I was changing the sheets on my bed and she said "Can I help you decorate your bed?"

I took the kids to see the Disney movie "Home".  When we got back in the car I asked them how they liked it and Bennett said "I could have cried at the end."  I was like huh??? I turn around to ask him again and he repeats himself and starts bawling.  I have such an emotional boy!  He was so moved by the happy ending of the movie.  I think he was pretty embarrassed crying like that in front of me though but oh so cute.

Ashley at church on Easter - she saw all the Easter flowers and the cross with the white robe instead of the purple robe etc. and then asked me "Where is the tomb?"

  1. These are so cute. And very cute picture, too! I like the one about "a little bit of everything." And I think Peytra and Zion have mentioned the "Chelsea" song, too. Since they have an aunt Chelsea, they think it's a song for her.

  2. Loved the decorating the bed! How true! And also, I got a small amount of enjoyment from "Merry Christmas you stupid mommy," and have found myself saying that under my breath the past couple days. -Gina
