Outside!

Wow it's been awhile since I've gotten a chance to get on here. We've been busy but not with anything all too exciting - just lots of running around.
We have been able to get outside for a few minutes these last days since it's been so nice and Bennett loves it! I ask him if he wants to go out and he shakes his head yes and gets all excited and starts running for the door. Today we put him in his little car that we got from someone for free last fall. He's not quite big enough for his feet to reach but he still seemed to like it and being outside. Last summer he loved watching all the cars go by and that hasn't changed at all. I just now need to somehow teach him to stay up by the house since we have lots of traffic in our front yard.

Climbing and Ove

Bennett is learning to climb. Yesterday he figured out how to climb into his rocking chair and then climb back out...over and over and over again.

Today Mike showed him how to climb on the coffee table (unfortunately). I have a feeling the bumps and bruises are going to start now.

Also last night I was saying I Love You Bennett and then asked him to say Love. He plain as day said "Ove" for both Mike & I to hear which was very cute!

Also here are two little video clips. It's nothing much but kind of cute for those of you who don't see him too often. I hope it opens and isn't too big.

13 Month Updates

-Started walking Everywhere!
-TANTRUMS! When Bennett turned one he got an attitude and has tantrums! Even if he's up walking and doesn't get his way, he will lay himself down on the floor and cry or whine. He also doesn't listen to the word No very well these days either. I definitely have a toddler on my hands!
-He is saying more and more syllables - K, B, G, Ma, Da, P (up), T. He also said Kitty a couple times one day.
-He know what his toys are when I say "Go get your..." - Book, Blocks, Truck, Ball, Elmo. This also applies when I say Drink or Cheerios.
-He has kind of started using the potty chair. (He actually went potty twice on it today!)
-2 more teeth on top brings the total to 14
-Since we go visit Great-Grandma in the mornings, Bennett is now down to one 2-3 hour nap a day. He usually sleeps 12 hours at night also.

Caught in the act

Bennett is usually a good eater but lately he seems to be a bit more picky and not even wanting to eat the things he usually likes (like hotdogs). Last night I caught him in the act of trying to "hide" his food already.
As you can see, the food he doesn't want, he's been hiding in the little slot at the top of his tray. That snaps off for easy washing and he's figured out that if he puts the food in that slot, it disappears.

Potty Training

You might have thought I was joking in my last post when I say next up is potty training. Well, I read that around a year old it doesn't hurt to get a potty chair and set it in the bathroom so the kid can get used to seeing it in there for when the time comes. So with his birthday money guess what he got. :-) Well, I've been trying to set him on it about once a day with a bare butt. This morning I caught him pooping so I quick ran him to the bathroom and took his pants and diaper off. He of course was done going already but since I had him stripped down I set him on there anyways. So for the second time now, he went potty while sitting there. I know it's just a coincidence but still...! Technically though, the potty has ended up on the floor and wall since I didn't have the boy's potty guard attached yet.

Officially Walking

Bennett officially started walking this weekend...EVERYWHERE!!! He took his first little steps about 1 1/2 weeks before his birthday. Since then he would take a few steps here and there or move from the furniture to Mike or me. But, all of a sudden yesterday he realized he could really move and he is walking none-stop from room to room at 12 months 3 weeks.
Next up, potty training... :-)

Bennett's M&M's

As a party favor at Karen's baby shower, we got a little plastic rattle that was filled with mini m&m's. Saturday night I was making supper and Bennett was getting whinny and in my way so I gave him the rattle to play with. Well, he shook it for about 2 seconds and then threw it hard on the floor which broke it open and spilled the m&m's all over. At first he had a look on his face like ouhhh oh and then he instantly picked one up and put it in his mouth and realized what it was. I had the camera nearby and this is what I caught. (don't worry - I didn't let him eat all of these)
He couldn't forget about the couple under the stove
Kitty decided to try one too
