Big Bennett
My little boy is getting really BIG! Over the weekend he finally figured out that he is able to lift his head off the ground while he's on his tummy. He is able to do this for a few minutes now instead of seconds like it used to be. He really was not a fan of tummy-time at all. I felt dumb but watching him do that almost made me cry! I knew he had been working on it for so long and just not able to do it. And when he finally could, it made me alittle "emotional". Partially because he is just getting to be so big already and not a little newborn anymore and then like I said, I just knew that we had been trying to get him to lift his head for weeks/months already and he finally could do it! I guess next comes rolling over. I think I'll be a wreck when he really has the big milestones like graduation & his wedding and stuff. Heck, preschool will be bad enough :-) Anyways, here is a picture of him on his tummy and also a picture of him in his big-boy clothes.

Elijah's Baptism
Bennett & I had a busy day on Sunday. We went to Mankato for cousin Elijah's baptism. Mike had to work and unfortunately couldn't come with us. So, luckily Bennett was great and slept the whole way down and back home. And he was very good while we were there too. He loves being held so it was a plus that he had a few extra people wanting to hold him! I didn't mind either ;-) We took a picture of Great Grandma & Grandpa Laue with their three Great Grandsons - Alex, Elijah & Bennett. Three boys that age were not willing to take a great picture but at least we have it!
Also, a few weeks ago we had to go get our picture taken for the church directory that is being put together. So this is our family picture that will be put in the book. It didn't turn out the best but it's not that bad either. Bennett looks stunned but I guess I don't blame him since the photographer was a little different. We had the option of buying pictures but I didn't since they gave us this 8X10 FREE! Plus the fact that Bennett grows so fast that I figured by the time we'd get the pictures back he'd look totally different already. Anyways, it was nice to get a family picture taken - for Free.
Also, congrats to cousin Kay & Keith and Stryker for baby girl Peytra. Another little extended cousin for Bennett!

Beach Boys
So I heard on the radio today that the Beach Boys are coming to Grand Casino in May. I think they are absolutely Awesome! I am sooo tempted to get tickets and go, but probably won't - partially cause I have no clue who would want to go with. I think they are one of the best oldies bands out there. I have their Greatest Hits CD and love all the songs. My favorites are Surfin' USA, Surfer Girl, Barbara Ann, & Kokomo. There are two reasons why I think I like them so much. #1 - cousin Amy had their tape and played it when I was over. I thought Amy was the coolest person in the 80's so hence, since she listened to them, so did I. And #2 - for some reason, the Beach Boys were always on the TV show Full House and sang with Uncle Jesse. Back in high school, one of the best pep band songs that we played was Barbara Ann so that may be part of the reason that I like that song. Anyways, just had to share my "love" of the Beach Boys tonight.

Happy Easter
Happy Easter!
Here are a couple of pictures of Bennett's first Easter. My friend Angie gave Bennett the Easter Bunny hat that he is wearing. He looked really cute in it but, he has a big head so it didn't fit him that well.
We had a busy day. First church. Then my mom's for dinner. Then this afternoon to Mike Uncle Tom who lives in St. Boni. (Maybe this is why Bennett is being a pain in the butt tonight - poor boy is worn out - and so is his mom!)
Hope you all had a wonderful Easter!
Bennett's Bedroom
Here are some pictures of Bennett's bedroom. We finished it this weekend by putting up the curtains that his Great-Grandma Laue made for him. The room turned out so great!
Now, we just need him to like it better. Sleep has been really rough for us this past week. He falls asleep in my arms in the rocking chair but when I lay him in the crib he'll almost immediatly wake up and start crying. This process goes on and on - it was 1-2:00 a few nights last week. And tonight isn't looking any better since I can hear him crying on the monitor. Any suggestions on how to get him to sleep better? Once he is actually finally sleeping, he seems to do ok for a few hours, but the getting him to sleep has been a big pain!

Easter Bunny
So today Bennett & I had a busy afternoon. We first went to visit Chris & Christina and take them a meal. (and yes, it was a good excuse to see Baby Gabriel too) :-) After that, we went to Target. I hate how I always spend so much money there but I guess it was all for stuff that we needed - especially formula. Similac was on sale this week plus I have lots of $5 off coupons so I was able to get a can for $15 instead of the normal $22. So, I stocked up - 4 cans - the rate we go through them that will only last about a month though.
Anyways...back to my original post... So today I got my first parental responsibility, other than the normal stuff. I got to go shopping for the Easter Bunny! I bought him a very cheap blue Easter Basket and some of that fake grass stuff. I asked Mike if he had any suggestions on what the Easter Bunny could get for Bennett and he said "I think Bennett would like lots of black jelly beans." And I said, "well in that case I think Bennett would also like some chocolate. So, don't tell Bennett but he's getting both of those. Plus, I found him a toy also. It's a round ball shaped thing that has buttons on to push and it will count numbers and play songs and there is also an option for the ball to wiggle and move around so that the kid will crawl and chase after it. It will probably be a couple of months out before he'll really be able to play with it and enjoy it but that is ok. It looks fun and I hope he will like it eventually. If nothing else, it will entertain the cats!
Bennett was verrrry good and slept the entire 3 hours that we were out. I always worry about him being the screaming kid that annoys everybody in the store but so far that hasn't happened.
I also want to congratulate my cousin Jen Jacob (Laue) and her husband Jeremy and their little boy Alex. They had their second baby this past week - Elijah Timothy! I can not wait to meet him and am so excited that Bennett has little extended cousins on all sides of the family!
Hope you all have a great rest of your weekend and Holy Week next week.
