3 Months To Go

Here is a belly shot of the baby. I've got 3 months to go! So far I've gained about 10 lbs. My next ultrasound is on Wednesday to see if the placenta has moved up at all.
Also here is a random picture of Bennett. I found him laying on the kitchen floor with kitty and his blankie tonight. I took this to mean he was ready for bed.

Tomatoes

I had 4 tomato plants in my garden this year. As they ripened throughout the summer I put them in the freezer until they were all done. So today I took them over to mom's and canned them. Unfortunately I only got 5 quarts but at least I got my monies worth I guess. Next year I'm planning to not plant any peas or pickles which should make more room in my garden for a few more tomato plants. I also had a good batch of green beans this year and was able to freeze away 10 meals worth.

Updates

It's been awhile since I've been on here. Bennett and I have been going to my mom's every day to help her out since her surgery. Other than that, we haven't been up to much - just lots of running around and cleaning for her. So, here are just a few pictures to get you updated.
Here is a picture of mom with her "new" back! She's doing really well these past few days. Hopefully within a few more weeks she'll be getting back to her normal routines. She walked down the driveway to get the mail the other day so she felt really good about that! This picture is also the first time that Bennett has sat in "uma's" lap since her surgery 4 weeks ago. I finally had a chance to get Bennett a much needed haircut today. What a handsome little man! I think he has had 4 real haircuts in his life. I was saying just the other day how long his hair would be if he was a girl and hadn't needed to get it cut it.

Baby Update

Baby Update!
I am 22 1/2 weeks along! Over half way (unless it's as late as Bennett was). I am feeling very good and the past few weeks I've been able to feel the baby moving around quite a bit. I've gotten my baby bump in the past 2-3 weeks but I'm not huge yet by any means. So far I've only gained about 4 pounds. Last week at 21 weeks I had my ultrasound. We did not find out what we are having and hope to be surprised again unless we happen to see something during the ultrasounds. It is so fun to see the baby and watch it moving around. The tech that was doing it said though "boy this baby is really moving around alot - you must have a mover on your hands". Mike and I looked at each other as to say "oh great another one!" We got to see the baby even open and close its mouth which was very cool to see - see picture #2. I did get a call from my doctors nurse though a few days later and she said that they had gone through the ultrasound and that the baby looks good but, I did have a low placenta. This means no strenuous exercise (haha like that happens), no intercourse, etc. for 6 weeks. Then I'll have to have another ultrasound to see if the placenta has moved up. I did a little checking after I got off the phone with her to see what this was all about and from what I read, it looks like the placenta is normally above the belly button and a low placenta means it is below your belly button and almost covering the cervix. If it doesn't move up on it's own as the baby grows, it will be covering the cervix and I wouldn't be able to deliver naturally and I'd need a c-section. The one good thing about having to have a c-section would be that I'd be able to pick my date and I wouldn't end up in the hospital anytime around my due date which is Dec 24th. I had my regular monthly checkup today and she explained it to me alittle more and she said that most of the time after the 6 weeks, it has gone up on its own. But, if it hasn't after the 6 week ultrasound, I would have to continue to have monthly ultrasounds until the time of delivery to see if there is any change in order to have a natural birth. So nothing to really be concerned about - just have to wait out the time and hope it moves up. Have any of you regular blog readers had this problem?

Kitty

Bennett loves his kitty Sonnie. He runs back and forth and the kitty will chase after his blanket and Bennett laughs and thinks it's the funniest thing. I also caught Bennett cover Sunnie up with his blankie and then lay down next to (on top of) him. It was too cute that I couldn't pass up the picture opportunity. Sunnie is very good with Bennett and will let him lay his head on him and pester him all the time. Our other cat Sancho is also very good with Bennett but hasn't bonded with Bennett like Sunnie has.

Chips

Yesterday I ran downstairs to the office to grab my camera and I was only down there about 3 minutes. When I got upstairs, this is the first thing I saw. Not that I want to "reward" him by taking pictures of a bad thing but I had it in my hand so figured why not (this way I could show Mike and Great-Grandma) what I have to put up with! Why I say Great-Grandma is because she found this stool at a thrift shop and gave it to him. I found this sitting right next to the counter in order to reach the bag of chips. He picks up this stool and moves it to where he wants it - usually to get in to trouble! Unfortunately I had to throw away most of the chips because he had stepped on them and it was a bunch of tiny chips and crumbs. And, unfortunately this was a bad of chips that I had kind of been craving and I had just opened the bag the night before and only had a handful. Thanks Bennett... (This little stool is mine, I use it all the time, To reach the things I couldn't, And lots of things I shouldn't)

County Fair

This morning we decided to take Bennett to the fair. I think he had fun - mostly looking at the animals. But of course, when we get to one of the animal barns that I think he's gonna like the most - the pigs, he is more interested in the buckle on the stroller and barely looked up to check out the pigs. But he did like the exotic petting zoo which is where we got the picture of the baby camel seen below. He also liked the goats and sheep because he could pet them and then they would lick his fingers. He laughed when the chickens would crow and he also loves cows and has never seen that many in the same place so he really looked curious about that too.
We tried to take him on the carousel and a helicopter ride which I thought he would be ok on. Nope, didn't go so well. Before the carousel even started, he wanted to get off his horse and then when it started moving he really didn't like it and kind of started crying even. So then I attempted the helicopter ride with him since we still had a few ride tickets left. The helicopter went in a big circle and then up and down too. He was ok on this one for about a minute but then started crying and wanted off on this one too. Once it stopped though, he didn't want to get out and wanted to keep playing with the steering wheel. I just kept hoping that he wouldn't get sick! Maybe next year will go better.
